Mt. Makalu base camp and Barun valley lies within Park and Conservation Area, located around Sankhuwa-Sabha district and eastern area at Solu-Khumbu area, bordered by Arun River and Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) National Park towards west, with Nepal- Tibet /China border towards north on the other side of Mt. Makalu.
On this adventure to Mt. Makalu base camp and Barun valley where you can marvel grand vista of 5th highest Mt. Makalu at 8,463 m / 27,766 ft high, with views of Baruntse-Chamlang and the rare East Face (Kangtsung) of Mt. Everest with Mt. Lhotse and world 3rd Mt. Kanchenjunga towards Far East horizon.
Starting this amazing journey with scenic flight around warmer areas of Arun River valley at Tumlingtar town, and then heading higher towards mountainous country past isolated villages of Rai / Kirat and Sherpa people of Num-Seduwa and Tashigaon, our adventure leads to complete wilderness on leaving human settlement and villages into lush green forest of rhododendron-oaks and pine trees.
Walk further leads crossing few passes of Tutu-la and Shipton-la across glacial lakes to reach hidden areas of beautiful Barun valley enclosed within high rocky cliffs and mountains the valley where rare herbs and vegetation are found along with elusive wild-life.
Adventure continues towards end of the valley at Shersong near Makalu Base camp with time to enjoy incredible views of mountains including east and rare East Face of Everest known as “Khangsung Face” within towering Mt. Makalu and its glaciers that feed Barun and Arun Rivers.
Our marvelous adventure around Mt. Makalu base camp and Barun valley completes walking back on the same route with few changes visiting Sherpa farm villages around Narbu and Tashi gaon to reach at Num for the drive back to Tumlingtar.
Next morning a smooth sweeping and scenic flight brings you to the hustle, bustle city life at Kathmandu, after concluding a mesmerizing and enjoyable adventure Mt. Makalu base camp and Barun valley trekking.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu 1,315m and transfer o hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar 448 m - 45 mins flight with overnight stop.
Day 04: Drive to Num 1,490 m - 04 hrs with afternoon free to explore.
Day 05: Trek to Seduwa 1,540 m- 05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Tashi Gaon 2,135m - 04 hours.
Day 07: Trek to Kaungma Danda 3,556 m - 05 hours
Day 08: Trek to Mumbuk 3,553 m - 06 hours
Day 09: Trek to Nghe (Nehe Kharka 3,760 m - 05 hours.
Day 10: Trek to Shersong 4, 572 m - 05 hours.
Day 11: Rest day at Shersong for day hike to Makalu South Base Camp 4,812 m.
Day 12: Trek to Yangle Kharka 3, 598 m - 06 hours.
Day 13: Trek to Mumbuk - 05 hours.
Day 14: Trek to Kaungma Ridge - 05 hours.
Day 15: Trek to Narbu Gaon 1,310 m via Tashi Gaon - 05 hours.
Day 16: Trek to Num via Seduwa - 05 hours.
Day 17: Drive back to Tumlingtar - 04 hrs.
Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 19: In Kathmandu spare and free day for individual activities.
Day 20: Final International departure homeward bound.
